A few house keeping things items and some strict rules by PA West you should all be reminded of during the season:
- We cannot change the schedules without both Club presidents agreeing. The day of a game, the weather is in the hands of the referees OR West District Director, should the league shut down play because of field conditions or weather. You are NOT allowed to cancel a game else risk a Club fine or Coaching suspension.
- You should have 2 jersey’s or pinnies to distinguish your colors. Home teams must change if in conflict.
- The refs are in charge, please make it clear to your parents and players they should not waste their breath yelling at a referee. We try to use our adult referees as the center in U12 and higher matches but we do not want games to get out of control. If you do have a concern with a call, please call the ref over and talk in a professional, civil fashion. The refs can forfeit a game for both teams if verbal abuse gets out of control. I would simply encourage your parents with an email and perhaps team meeting to cheer their player and not against the referee. There continues to be zero tolerance policy without PA West on referee abuse.
- You must print 2 Game Day Rosters (GDR) for the referees, have your PA West Official Roster and all player passes each week. As a reminder, no pass, no play.
- Ball size – be sure your using the proper size ball (size 4 at U10 and U12 and size 5 at U13 and higher).
- There is a bathroom key inside the equipment closet in the event the bathrooms are locked, you should unlock upon arrival to the fields.
- Michael Grayson ([email protected]) is assigning referees. if you have any questions feel free to contact him by email or phone.
Please advise if you need any other support during the season and best of luck!
