All coaches must sign up for a background check through the state of Pennsylvania per the new PA state law that went into effect this year.  The background checks are good for 3 year and apply to coaching any youth sport as will as volunteer roles in public schools.  CVYS will reimburse that cost of this background clearance.  Follow this Link to complete your background check today:  PA State Youth Sports Risk Management

Game schedules will be provided by your commissioners. You may create your own practice schedule with player parent input if you wish. Field times are first come first serve. Once you’ve scheduled your practices make sure to let your commissioner know.

Keep in mind CVYS has SKILLS Night on nights during the season. Times for spring skills nights will be determined in late March. Player attendance is not mandatory, but it is strongly encouraged. SKILLS Night is a professionally run practice by a Youth Elite Soccer coach, Oliver Souter. Coaches are encouraged to attend as well.

And new this fall season, Coach Oliver will be helping at the fields during U6 and U8 weekly practices. Coach Oliver will work with the U6 teams the first, third, fifth and seven weeks of the season. During the second, fourth, sixth and eighth weeks, he will help run U8 practices.

To best utilize and share our YES coach, please see him first thing when you get to the fields. After your full team has arrived he'll give you a drill to run and instruct you on how to run it. After each drill is done you'll return to him for your next drill with any questions you may have. While running your drill, Coach Ollie will be around to check on your progress. He's there to support you, so don't be afraid to ask a question or two. 

Cancellations due to inclement weather are as follows. Soccer is an all weather sport, however, in case of lightening games and practices will be immediately suspended. No player is allowed on the field until 30 minutes after the last spotted strike. Legue representives will have the authority to cancel games. You may want to cover with parents other weather conditions in which you will cancel practice. Further, games may be cancelled by the league should the weather prove damaging to the fields as well, such as in the case with heavy rains.

Members of our league pay good money to have their children participate, so please make every effort to schedule Make-Up games for any that may be cancelled. Make-up games should be scheduled between you and the opposing team’s coach. You must inform the commissioner of all scheduled make-up games, so that an official referee can be made available.
